Siam Bay Racha Yai

Like Bungalow Bay, Siam Bay is protected from the easterly breeze. Located at the north eastern tip of the island, Siam Bay's main attractions are some submerged concrete statues. In the middle of the bay at a depth of around 24 metres, there are a couple of life sized Elephants, and a couple of temple archways with Samurai warriors guarding them. Some Lionfish congregate here, as do some Scorpionfish, feasting on the Glassfish that sometimes live here in vast numbers. To the east of the statues is a shallow reef, littered with hard corals and interesting bommies. Overhangs and small swim throughs have formed in some places. Expect to find all the usual suspects here - Triggerfish, Trumpetfish, Octopus and even a Hawksbill Turtle grazing on the bubble corals.

It is protected from currents so is an easy dive. To be honest, there's nothing to write home about here, although the statues are worth at least one visit. It's a good alternative to Bungalow Bay, if the east side is inaccessible due to big seas.
