North Point is located just off the northern tip of Similan Island number nine. Large boulder formations permeate this exciting dive site. Currents can vary and are sometimes challenging. There is a pinnacle to the north of the site where the bottom is at around 40 metres and the top flattens out at about 26 metres. The top of the pinnacle is festooned with colourful soft corals catching their dinner that drifts past in the current. The shallower rock formations provide channels and crevices and there is a nice swim through at 20 metres. Expect to find almost anything here, from Leopard Sharks and Whitetip Reef Sharks, Giant Trevally, Blue Fin Trevally, Stingrays, as well as a host of Nudibranchs and smaller reef inhabitants. Towards the shallower areas Turtles can usually be found grazing amongst the corals. |
