| Doolittle Doo is a pleasant reef that slopes down to about 35 metres. It's mostly made up of hard corals and rocks, although there are some whip corals and soft corals in certain areas. Again, some concrete cubes have been carefully laid here to offer marine life protection and also to deter fisherman from dragging their nets. It's possible to encounter almost anything here. Mantas sometimes cruise past, Morays can be seen free swimming and smaller critters hide out in cracks and crevices. This is an easy site to dive and navigate. Visibility can be anywhere from between 5 and 40 metres. Expect good visibility and general conditions during the low season months of May until October. It should be noted, that at times during the high season months of November through to April, this site, and indeed all the sites on the east coast of Racha Yai are occasionally inaccessible due to the strong seas caused by easterly winds. |
