Breakfast Bend Similans

Breakfast Bend is to the east of Similan Island number nine.  The dive site is an extensively long coral reef which slopes gradually down to around 30 metres. The reef is comprised mostly of hard corals, while soft corals are few and far between. The current ranges from mild to medium and can sometimes split into two half way down the reef. There's a better than average chance to see Leopard Sharks here. Although they are usually resting peacefully on sandy patches on the reef, it's common to see them swimming gracefully as they move from spot to spot, maybe looking for a mate.

There are also many interesting species of aquatic life to be found here, including Turtles, both Green and Hawksbill, Blue Spotted Stingrays, larger fish like Napoleon Wrasse, a variety of Triggerfish, Snappers, Octopus, Pipefish, Gobies, Batfish and more.

It can be quite a shallow dive and still very interesting. It's perfect for inexperienced divers, or for afternoon dives. Currents are seldom strong here, but sometimes it makes for a fun drift dive.
