MV Queen Scuba is a good quality Similans liveaboard. She was launched in 2003 and offers more than just comfortable surroundings for guests liveaboard dive holidays in Thailand. All cabins are air-conditioned and all the VIP cabins and the master cabin have ensuite bathrooms and large double beds. The master cabin is ideal for honeymooners, and enjoys its own TV and DVD player with a library of the latest movies, as well as a complimentary fruit basket. Standard cabins are on the lower deck and have bunk beds, perfect for individual travellers or a group of friends. There is an air-conditioned comfortable saloon on the main deck with a widescreen TV and home entertainment system.
Meals are all served buffet style and are a mixture of Thai and Western cuisine. Of course there are complimentary snacks, cakes and soft drinks all day long. The boat has an expansive dive deck that never gets overcrowded, even when the boat is full. There are two large dinghies on-hand to pick up guests after dives so waiting for long periods on the surface, is never an issue. All the crew and dive staff are experienced and some have been working on the boat since its launch. She is also fitted with state of the art communications and safety equipment, and as you would expect with a boat like this, Nitrox is always available.

The trip offered is the standard four day and four night trip that takes in the Similan Islands, as well as Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and of course, the famous Richelieu Rock. She is based just a short ride from Phuket at the port of Tap Lamu. Complimentary transfers to and from Phuket hotels are included. We really like the Queen Scuba and offer this fantastic boat with no hesitation at all. Customer reports from the boat are invariably excellent.
The MV Queen Scuba offers a standard four-day and four-night itinerary which covers the Similan Islands as well as Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and Koh Surin.
Departure Day: Hotel pick-up times are arranged for around 4:30pm and guests are transferred to the Queen Scuba which is moored at Tap Lamu just north of Phuket. The boat will depart for the Similans at around 9pm and guests can relax and enjoy a light supper. Day 1: Four dives in the Similans. These could include Eel Garden, a great dive to start the trip, Shark Fin Reef, East of Eden and Honeymoon Bay. The fourth dive of the day will be either a sunset dive or a night dive. Day 2: Two more dives in the Similans, possibly Elephant Head Rock or North Point, before the Queen Scuba cruises north to Koh Bon in search of Manta Rays. She then sails further north to Koh Tachai where it's possible to find Whalesharks, Mantas, as well as a whole wealth of smaller critters. Day 3: Two dives at what is considered the best dive site in Thailand, Richelieu Rock. This is the best site to find Whalesharks in Thai waters, but is also home to a vast array of marine life, some of which is native to this single dive site. Enjoy some lunch while the boat cruises west to Koh Surin for a couple more great dives. Day 4: A final dive at Koh Bon looking for more Manta Rays, before ending the trip at the Boonsung Wreck. Guests arrive at Tap Lamu and are transfered back to their Phuket hotels for around 5pm.
